SFO Resources Group, with Ecospanus LTD, is currently undertaking a tire waste to energy project in northwest Spain. In response to recent tire fires and other environmental disasters in the region, Ecospanus sought out the right technology for an environmentally responsible facility, employing people of that region, and reducing Spain’s dependence on expensive imported oil and natural gas. Our precision engineered PGL technology will be able to liquify scrap tires into diesel fuel, carbon black, sulphur and steel in a closed-loop gasification process. With gasification, the tires are recycled, taking the material back to its original components by using indirect/controlled heating. (Unlike incineration, which requires direct burning, the tires are never exposed directly to the flame!) Our closed-loop technology is the most current in the field with the lowest emissions-
below Kyoto standards. The plant will include an onsite chemical testing lab to assure that the operation of the facility will meet and exceed the highest emission standards of the world for carbon and sulphur. Ecospanus LTD seeks to expand the waste stream capabilities of the plant to meet the European Union’s mandate that requires 60% of all waste to be recycled by 2015. SFO Resources Group will provide the project management expertise to deliver a turnkey, fully operational and managed facility.
SFO Resources Group is acting as Project Manager for Ecospanus in developing a 350 MW coal gasification power plant near Bembibre, Spain with former Mayor Antonio Rey Perez (coal mine owner) and Atty. Cesar-Manuel Garnelo Diez of Ecospanus LTD. Using the latest state-of-the-art coal gasification technology, our project will revitalize Spain's coal reserves and produce clean energy for the region. All impurities are removed before the gas goes into the gas turbines for electric generation, thus eliminating the emissions that formerly plagued the conversion of coal to energy.
